SumanSpeaks Capital Markets & Geopolitical Intelligence · Estd 2006 Judiciary & Infrastructure SEPC Ltd: The Question the Madras High Court Hasn't Asked Yet A ₹154.63 crore attachment. A 'D' rating. A ₹521.46 crore contract gone. Three events, viewed separately, tell one story. Viewed together, they raise a question the Madras High Court has yet to confront: is SEPC (₹6.21) losing business because of commercial weakness—or because the execution process itself is steadily stripping away the credibility needed to win new contracts? The record before the Court reveals an uncomfortable sequence of events. In February 2026, the Madras High Court attached ₹154.63 crore of SEPC's trade receivables to enforce a decade-old foreign arbitral award. Within weeks, CRISIL and Infomerics downgraded the company's bank facilities to the 'D' category, with CRISIL expressly citing overdrawals and de...
Congress, BJP both responsible for Coal Scam, says Team Anna
New Delhi, Aug 26: The leaders of the India Against Corruption (IAC) were detained by the Delhi Police here on Sunday.
They were trying to hold sit-in protests in front the houses of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Congress president Sonia Gandhi and the BJP president Nitin Gadkari.
While the police said no security breach at the high security zones could be allowed, the protestors said the police used force at the peaceful marchers.
The IAC leader Arvind Kejriwal said both the Congress and the BJP looted the country together in the coal scam. He said the BJP and the Congress are two sides of the same coin. Addressing the protestors, he said both the Congress and the BJP will be defeated by the voters in the next elections.
He reiterated his demand that the coal block allocations to private players should be cancelled immediately. He asked the Government why there was a delay in cancelling the licences.
He alleged that the CPI (M) and the BJD too advised the UPA Government against auctioning the coal blocks. He said the Prime Minister and the Congress President ordered lathi-charge against IAC workers.
Unnecessary pressure’:
The Congress has been maintaining that Team Anna has been putting “unnecessary pressure” on the Centre.
The party had asked the activist not to protest in front of the residences of leaders and break law and order.
The BJP too expressed surprise at the IAC’s move to hold a sit-in in front of Gadkari’s house. The party leader Arun Jaitley said the IAC should remember that it was the BJP who worked in and outside Parliament for a strong Lokpal Bill.
Differences:
There are differences among IAC leaders on holding protests against the BJP.
Key activist Kiran Bedi stayed away from the IAC’s protest at Gadkari’s house.
She said she had informed the team about her views that the focus should be on the ruling party as bracketing opposition right now when they are already attacking the ruling party will, in fact, benefit only the party in power.
The Congress has been maintaining that the RSS is helping Team Anna in holding protests.
