Chidambaram replaces Patil as Home Minister after the inevitable happened, Shivraj Patil resigned....I had asked for the his resignation in my last write-up
But better choice for the post of Home Minister, would have been Mr.Santosh (Rana) Mohan Dev or someone from Rajya Sabha , who had some military background.
We need someone who has guts or a little rough and tough to be home minister of this great country--Mr.P Chidambaram is too gentle for this job. However, let us hope for the best.....
Indians are trying to colour all the politicians with the same brush which is not good and should be avoided. How can Amar Singh be equated with Dr.Pranab Mukherjee or in the same vein, Mr. L K Advani with Mr.S Sahabuddin of Bihar. This is just bullshit!!
Barkha Dutt's programme "We the (Studio) People", was marred by a person who surprisingly said, "Pakistan is not our enemy, and we should have dialogues"....haha.....We will have dialogues and dialogues and dialogues and meanwhile Indians will only get killed---today it is the Chairman of Yes Bank, Mr.Ashok Kapur tomorrow it could be Suman Mukherjee. I do not know from where she brings such utter nonsenses/farcical and religious fanatics in her programmes.
She is always known to bring such elements in her programmes and give them enough time, so that they can humiliate India and its citizens. She always have a hidden agenda behind her mind, which she tries to push everytime.....
But, even what is surprising is that Barkha instead of taking this issue strongly/seriously asked all to keep quiet......This is just Rubbish!! If she thinks that these kinds of biased programmes will unite India, then she is terribly mistaken.
I think government should carry an enquiry if this lady, behind a beautiful facade, has any links with some elements who are there to destabilise our country!! Moreover time has come to boycott all her special programmes and also those advertisers who advertises during her programme. New Delhi: Finance Minister P Chidambaram was on Sunday appointed Home Minister after incumbent Shivraj Patil resigned owing moral responsibility for the Mumbai terror
Chidambaram (63), who has had a stint as Minister of Internal Security under the late Rajiv Gandhi in late 1980s, was shifted to the Home Ministry amidst demands for the ouster of Patil, who had come under severe attack for his handling of internal security matters.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, himself an economist of repute, will hold the Finance portfolio at a time when the country is suffering from the ripple effects of the global recession. Singh had held the Finance portfolio for five years under the late P V Narasimha Rao.
A Rashtrapati Bhawan communiqué announced the appointment of Chidambaram as Home Minister after acceptance of Patil's resignation. It said the Prime Minister would hold the additional charge of Finance.
Indications that Chidambaram would be given the new responsibility came when he was called as a special invitee to the Congress Working Committee on Saturday night and he met the Prime Minister on Sunday morning to discuss the situation arising out of the Mumbai terror attacks.
After recommending Patil's resignation to President Pratibha Patil, who is away in Indonesia, the Prime Minister spoke to Chidambaram formally conveying the decision to give him the new assignment.
The appointment also came hours before the start of the all-party meeting convened by the Prime Minister to discuss the Mumbai attacks and evolve a consensus on how to combat terror
