Blasts in Assam: Over 50 killed, more than 100 injured; Curfew imposed in Guwahati:

I was talking of Terrorism in the Morning in this blog, look what happened within the next 12 hours time frame. Hence I said if our lives are not secure what is the use of any government??!!

Now just imagine what will happen in future, if a Powerful Country elects a President, who has alleged Terrorist Links.....

Guwahati: A series of coordinated blasts rocked Assam on Thursday, killing over 50 20 people and injuring more than 100, police and eyewitnesses said.

Four blasts occurred in Assam's principal city of Guwahati and three each in Barpeta and Kokrajhar districts. Several of the injured were said to be in a critical condition.

Thick black smoke billowed into the sky as the blasts in Guwahati targeted busy markets like Fancy Bazar, Pan Bazar and the district courts. One blast went off a mere 100 metres from the residence of Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.

The mangled remains of cars littered Guwahati's streets even as fire brigade personnel and rescue workers rushed in to control the flames.

Curfew was clamped in Guwahati on Thursday after rampaging mobs attacked police vehicles and commuter buses in the wake of the serial blasts that rocked the state, killing at least 30 people and injuring over 100.

Police fired in the air to disperse the mobs, which set ablaze about a dozen vehicles. There were no injuries in the firing, police said.
