Samajawadi party to support UPA, if Left withdraws support: Cheers!!
Bangalore: The Samajawadi Party (SP) is likely to extend support to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre if the Left parties, opposing the Indo-US nuclear deal, withdraw their support, Senior SP leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister S Bangarappa said today.

Addressing newspersons here he said the Congress leaders were holding talks with senior leaders of the SP in New Delhi, seeking their support in the event of the Left pulling the plug on the UPA.
Endorsing the party leader's decision to talk with the Congress and extend support to the UPA government he said, ''There is nothing wrong in giving support to the Congress at this juncture.'' On the debacle of his party in the recent Assembly elections in Karantaka, Mr Bangarappa alleged that the BJP had spent large amounts of money and adopted dubious means.
He also criticised the new BJP goverment's inability to ensure sufficient quantity of fertilisers to the farmers.
He also condemned Home Minister V S Acharya's statement on the disappearance and subsequent suicidal death of Udupi legislator's wife Padmapriya.
