~: WINNING STROKES: THINK DIFFERENT :~ Tips Industries Ltd moved to Rs.33.50 before cooling down a  bit. It is a safe pick and should give good returns over a given period. The next target is Rs.48-52, which it is expected to achieve in the next couple of months time frame. Rolta India Ltd DCB Ltd moved to Rs.43.60 before coming down a bit and closing at Rs.43.25. It however  needs to close above Rs.43.70 on closing basis to trigger a positive upmove. However, its results are excellent and also the Indian Central Bank has hinted a PAUSE IN THE RATE HIKE CYCLE. Meanwhile, the CREDAI National President Lalit Kumar Jain said the same thing which I have been saying since the last two years, "The frequent rate hikes will prove to be counterproductive since the move will have a cost-push impact rather than proving to be an inflation control measure". Indranil Pan, chief economist of Kotak Mahindra Bank, said in a preview to the monetary policy a couple of days back, "We be...

~: WINNING STROKES: THINK DIFFERENT :~ The markets behaved both yesterday and today, as expected. Yesterday, the following news was sent to the Paid Group, in "Mid-market Chart Check": The Nifty could bounce from 5017--5032 ranges.....today, I do  not think that the Nifty would break the support at 5000-5017 ranges. Watch out if the Nifty gets a bounce from 5017--5032 ranges to take fresh long positions. The momentum and money flow index are still in the BUY ZONE, indicating that this could be a bear trap--let us see. Exactly the same thing happened as NIFTY BEARS GOT CRUSHED. It was further mentioned yesterday that: Those who have bought DCB Ltd at higher levels can continue to average the scrip in all declines till Rs.41.60.  DCB Ltd moved up today also and touched Rs....... ..... SO WHAT WAS SENT TO THE PAID GROUP TODAY IN THE MORNING??!!   Coal India Ltd which was asked to be kept on Watch List, moved to Rs.338. Yesterday, there was news in a section of the press that...

Why the decline of the West is best for us – and them By R Vaidyanathan   Ten years ago, America had Steve Jobs, Bob Hope and Johnny Cash. Now it has no Jobs, no Hope and no Cash. Or so the joke goes. Only, it’s no joke. The line is pretty close to reality in the US. The less said about Europe the better. Both the US and Europe are in decline. I was asked by a business channel in 2008 about recovery in the US. I mentioned 40 quarters and after that I was never invited for another discussion. Recently, another media person asked me the same question and I answered 80 quarters. He was shocked since he was told some “sprouts” of recovery had been seen in the American economy. It is important to recognise that the dominance of the West has been there only for last 200-and-odd years. According to Angus Maddison’s pioneering OECD study, India and China had nearly 50 percent of global GDP as late as the 1820s.   Hence India and China are not emerging or rising powers. They ar...
