Industrial production grew 10% in May vs year ago:
India's industrial production in May rose 10% from a year earlier, higher than market expectations due to strong manufacturing output growth, data showed on Wednesday.
Manufacturing, which represents more than 75% of industrial output, rose 11.3 percent in May from a year earlier, compared with 10.4% in April.
Consumer durables output in May was up 18.3% from a year earlier, while production of capital goods, a key barometer of industrial activity, rose 20.5% from a year earlier.
