Result Analysis
(i) In a significant development, Southern Online Bio Tech Ltd came out with Q3FY13 results along the expected lines. The net losses have been reduced from Rs.5.21 Cr in Q3FY12 to Rs.3.77 Cr in Q3FY13. Also the company had a higher topline in Q3FY13, as Rs.33.94 Cr as against Rs.22.60 Cr in Q3FY12. Even the company fared well both on the Sequential and Y-o-Y basis.
The company came out with operational profit (before Other Income, Finance Cost and Exceptional Items) of Rs.1.09 Cr in Q3FY13 Cr as against a loss of Rs.1.24 Cr in Q3FY12 and a loss of Rs.65 lakhs in Q2FY13.This is a major achievement and shows that it is indeed a turnaround case like Crest Animation Studios Ltd.
However, what is a bit worrisome is the increase in the finance cost on Q-o-Q basis, though, on sequential basis it is more or less flat. The company's performance would be much better in Q1FY14, as by that time, its 2nd plant would be operational. The trial production has already started in the export oriented 2nd plant and soon the final output is expected or commercial production is now at arms length. Also, with the OMCs increasing the price of diesel, the fate of this BIO-DIESEL COMPANY is expected to further improve in the coming days.
The investors can either hold or add the scrip in all declines---this would be multi--bagger. Only what you need to do is to book occasional profits and again enter in all declines. This scrip has always given money to the investors, if you remember its history, and has an investor friendly management. CMP: Rs.3.92.
(ii) In case of Crest Animation Studios Ltd, the prospects looks good, as many brokerage houses, I have spoken are bullish on the media/entertainment sector. The company came out with a Profit before Interest and Exceptional Items, at Rs.10.3 lakhs in Q3FY13. Also, if the Loss on Sale of Investment was not as high as Rs.1.95 Cr, the profits would have been much higher. Moreover, the interest cost for Q3FY13, also came down to Rs.1.44 Cr as against Rs.1.66 Cr in Q2FY13 and Rs.1.67 in Q3FY12.
This is expected to improve further as the company's single largest shareholder D.E. Shaw Composite Investments (Mauritius) Limited has started to take serious interest in the matter of effective running of the company and this might result in the improvement  of its future financials
Investors are suggested to buy in bulk at Rs.9.97 and wait for it to cross Rs.31-32, in the next 3-4 months time frame. The scrip moved up, with good volumes, even on last Friday, when the selling continued in the small and mid cap space.
