Q2FY13 results of Reliance Power Ltd
Reliance Power posted a two per cent (2%) rise in net profit to Rs.240 crore for
the quarter ended September, aided by increase in capacity addition.
Anil Ambani-led company, which has a 1,200 MW power plant at Rosa in
Uttar Pradesh and a 40 MW solar plant in Rajasthan as its commissioned
capacity, had registered a post tax profit of Rs.235 crore in the
year-ago period.
The generation from the Rosa plant jumped 65% to 1,655 million
units during the reported period, while the solar unit generated 13.8
million units. The management said at during the declaration of the results, that 660 MW first unit of 3,960 MW Sasan ultra mega power plant in
Madhya Pradesh will be commissioned in the next few weeks, five months
ahead of schedule.
The management added that the company is on path to meet the target of 4,500 MW
commissioned capacity by end of the fiscal. In the July-September
period, total income grew 57 % to Rs.1,181 crore. During the
period, its plant load factor at the sole Rosa project slipped to 62.5 % due to shutdown at a boiler for maintenance.
At Sasan, it has already started coal production
and accomplished boiler light-up of the first unit.
At the Butibori unit in Maharashtra, where it is erecting a total
capacity of 600 MW, the first 30 unit has been synchronised with the
grid while the boiler light-up for the second unit of equal capacity
has also been achieved, the company said.
