Festival Season Brings Hope For Indian Apparel Retailers

With few days left for Diwali, Indian apparel retailers are also looking up for good sales in the marriage season and the upcoming winter season.
According to most of the apparel retailers in the country, customers are responding positively to the festival season sale and high growth is visible in sales.
Mr. Sandeep Jain, Executive Director of Oswal Woolen Mills, told fibre2fashion “Durga puja sale for Monte Carlo was fantastic, especially in eastern part of India and the brand is looking forward to a very good sale in Diwali”.
“After Diwali, its marriage season and the sentiments are good in the market, we will have a good sale compared to last year”, he adds.
Monte Carlo brand has introduced new kids apparel ‘Twins Monte Carlo’ in this winter season and the well known winter wear brand is waiting for a favorable season sale.
Mr. Jain said “Everything is falling in place, even the weather, so we are waiting for huge sales in the winter season this year”
Apart from the woolen knitted garments, Monte Carlo from Oswal Woolen Mills Ltd, a flagship company of the Ludhiana based - Nahar Group  is also offering products including T-Shirts, Shirts, Linen, Denim, Trousers, Sportswear, both for men and women.
Haryana-based leading menswear brand Blackberrys is also expecting a good sale for Diwali, after the Onam season in Kerala and Durga Puja.
Mr. Yogesh Tiwari, Vice-President (Sales & Marketing) of Blackberrys, said “At the back of a very good Onam season in Kerala wherein we saw a growth of a 100 percent and 20 percent growth during Durga puja, we foresee good tidings for the upcoming festivities across the country.
“We keep our strategies simple, i.e. – to keep delighting the consumer by innovations and our product offerings. This is our mantra of building the brand”, he adds.
Blackberrys is one of the leading formal wear brands in India with about 900 plus retail outlets and 125 company owned showrooms.
According to Mr. Kapil Khattar, brand marketing manager of Allen Solly, there has been a good sale for Durga Puja and the brand has grown strongly compared to last year.
“Consumers are excited and are not holding back. We are seeing strong growth in footfalls and sales”, he said.
Commenting on the Diwali sale, Mr. Khattar said “Allen Solly's emphasis this Diwali, has been to continue highlight its core brand identity through the new brand logo and the new retail identity. We have opened 12 stores with the new identity and renovated other 8 top stores and we have launched several new products for this diwali”.
